AJ Huffman

The Road to Gray Road

is shaded in half-centennial of ambiguous metaphors,
barely discernible among the more melodious tinge
of metallic cuffs and keys. Gratuitous pandering
to misogynistic egos has consumed a generation
while allegedly resulting in the corrupted copulation
intended to spawn the next. I cower in my private
quarters, eyes closed in shame, chanting my safe
word like a desperate prayer that tomorrow’s light
will show it all to have been nothing
more than a sad, semi-salacious shadow of a dream.
