Dewy Birth

The fiction of romance
feeds us with visions.

Drawing two,
from the unknown
into otherworldly possession.

Sweat ensues,
lightening catches
the outline of bodies
afloat in warm oceans.

It is burning within us,
like lotus flowers
that have survived
a thousand years of storms.

It is alive like a new idea,
pulsating and raw –

Handing us reprisals and dewy birth.
