John Swain, Summer 2017

Clothed in eclipse,
snow sound
your subtle river ring,
a gradual darkness.

Rain and clouds,
the moon in you,
I touch
skin, shadow,
a deer in branches.

Sibylline murmuring
owl eye of snow,
armor-dark as the trees
in the deep night,
the white winter flies.
