Melodies by Bach
I.
An angel climbing a ladder
But the ladder
Is upside down
When she notices this,
She laughs
And laughs
II.
Sounds of frogs
And birds
Over a serene
Little lake
The trees stand
Straight
The sky
Darkens but
Moonlight shimmers
Off the water’s
Surface
I put my love’s
Hand
In mine,
And kiss it
This is
The delight of the mind
III.
The sunlight
Gently pushes
Through the shades
Of our bedroom
It brushes against my piles
Of papers and books
On the windowsill
Hearing my heavy breathing,
It wakes me from a nightmare I was having
Where I was being chased by wolves
In the midst of a murky swamp
I hate wet socks
IV.
A complaint
In minor chords
Sitting in an old hall
With extravagant architecture
I have forgotten
So much
V.
A cat walking
On the escalator,
Little Sisyphus
VI.
What to
Do
What
To do
Only sit
And pray
That sitting
In prayer
Is the answer
To our problems
