Richard Schnap, April 2016

As The Seasons Pass Like Dreams

I pass by the thrift store
Where designer dresses were once sold

The discount tobacco mart
Where health supplements were once found

The showroom for new cell phones
Where stationary was once displayed

The drug rehab center
Where a toy shop had once stood

The market for pet supplies
Where greeting cards were once stocked

The home security warehouse
Where flowers once filled its aisles

The three story parking garage
Where a playground had once been

And the hundred year old tavern
That’s stayed the same throughout the years
