Painters’ Exhalations 575
—after Toni Grote’s Twilight Trees

Brothers wear
graying sleeves, covering
sliced skin of antiquated bark.
Their variant size
accurate as
displayed wholly
within flattened dimensions of
esoteric shadows.

Painters’ Exhalations 576
—after M Mellon’s Internal Landscape Nine

Upon awakening, the
eye swerves onto its own controlled contour,
amazed. A stun retribution
wide in its scolding manifest for
awakening prior to the mind’s fullest
relax.  Blur, the blue blur as in a
cotton ball sky
draping light’s sectional shoulders,
understanding mirage
is the temporary body
overtly bound to required
dissipation.

Painters’ Exhalations 577
—after Marilyn Henrion’s Disturbances 9

capture with twirling hands
the winged
witnesses
wandering
eastward
following
demands of the sensational
caricatures

peripatetically sufficient
of the intellectual ascertained.

Painters’ Exhalations 578
—after David Lloyd Glover’s Trane – John

Readying, I witness shadow-still meditation.  Your
gift, golden brass of elucidating notes
sits
as patience covers its elongated body,
a dress of design
designed of the elaborate prose found
stimulating creative consciousness.  The
time of representing soon will
collide with evaluating stares
appreciating
the genius
found sans flawed rhythms
delighting as the crowd erupts within
fully stretched applause.

Painters’ Exhalations 579
—after John Lautermilch’s Evening’s Final Glow

At 5 o’clock
sky dons her
orange-rose robe,
readying night
for resting landscapes
her moment
to become antiquated
decision to etch its syllables
across all onlookers’
designated stares.
