Editors’ Note And News

Thank you to the contributors and supporters of Full Of Crow. We are pleased to welcome another slate of fine poets with this latest issue, April 2012.

Thank you to Aleathia Drehmer, and we wish her luck with her future projects. Aleathia has been the section editor for Full Of Crow Quarterly Poetry for many issues and has brought exciting poetry to our site over the years. Change is a part of life in independent press, and publications evolve over time. I am excited to be taking on this section personally, beginning with the next issue, and while I have done the production end, content, press work, chapbooks, and produce the various sections, this will be the first time for me in this role specifically editing the poetry for this part of our family of publications and projects.

As for news, we have some exciting things to tell you about. We have new chapbooks and zines in our distro, the latest addition is “Plugged Poems” by Aimee DeLong.

We have a new issue of Blink Ink coming out this week, and that printed publication of short fiction is still going strong under the direction of Doug Mathewson. Paul Corman-Roberts continues to bring outstanding fiction writers to the fiction section and it updates on the same schedule as our poetry, due out this week.

MiCrow, the flash fiction supplemental section edited by Michael Solender, had another great issue this past winter and submissions will be open in June for the summer issue.

Fashion For Collapse remains, and the pamphlet series is heading to print and distribution. Other zines, on various schedules, are still going strong so look for calls for submissions on our blog.

Last but not least, we are pleased to announce TOXIC ABATEMENT, BEAST CRAWL, and ZYFEZ Oakland, for July 2012.

Toxic Abatement will be held on July 5 in San Francisco’s Viracocha, on Valencia, and will feature poets, performers, and music. Please check out the FFC page for the most current information about featured poets and performers as we are finalizing our line up.

BEAST CRAWL is an East Bay Literary Festival, and Full Of Crow is pleased to be a part of that, curating a reading. And ZYFEZ 2012, on July 8, will be the second annual festival hosted by Red Fez and Zygote In My Coffee, in Oakland, CA. More to come, but please look for details as this is shaping up to be an amazing week of events. We will be spreading the word on facebook and on the blog. Please follow us and if you plan to be in the Bay area in July, get in touch because we would be happy to provide the details and promo materials for these events.

Thank you for your support,

Lynn Alexander
