You Say the Moon Woke You this Morning \/\/ for A.M.<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
Someone said the moon woke them \u00a0 this morning or<\/span><\/div>\n
in the center of the night \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 like an emergency flare<\/span><\/div>\n
roadside \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 or the gash of a libyan bomb<\/span><\/div>\n
yellow white \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0midst darkness. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0In darkness there is<\/span><\/div>\n
no darkness \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0there are gradations of light<\/span><\/div>\n
filtered in. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0It is a full moon captured by photographers<\/span><\/div>\n
to fill the Smithsonian walls \u00a0 the Louvre<\/span><\/div>\n
we will stay up tonight \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 to watch its calm.<\/span><\/div>\n
We will stay up tonight \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0like a family moving into<\/span><\/div>\n
a new house a new life \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0a new collage<\/span><\/div>\n
of things. \u00a0 In the sewingbox I have wooden spools<\/span><\/div>\n
& have threads entangled I have a heart of muscle & blood.<\/span><\/div>\n
Just in case. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Open my \u00a0chest<\/span><\/div>\n
& suture the moon there \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0where the anaconda twisted<\/span><\/div>\n
& thrashed. \u00a0 \u00a0 Open my chest & suture the moon<\/span><\/div>\n
a transplant of light \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0midst darkness.<\/span><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
