{"id":1913,"date":"2012-10-23T03:03:15","date_gmt":"2012-10-23T03:03:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fullofcrow.com\/poetry\/?page_id=1913"},"modified":"2012-10-23T03:03:15","modified_gmt":"2012-10-23T03:03:15","slug":"brenton-booth-1012","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.fullofcrow.com\/poetry\/archives\/brenton-booth-1012\/","title":{"rendered":"Brenton Booth, 10\/12"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>APOLOGY\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I guess I am not the hero<\/p>\n<p>I guess I am not the prince<\/p>\n<p>I guess I am not the first violin<\/p>\n<p>at the opera house<\/p>\n<p>though to you<\/p>\n<p>I play with the same<\/p>\n<p>clarity and volume,<\/p>\n<p>I just can\u2019t do it:<\/p>\n<p>I am fire in rain<\/p>\n<p>I am desert in snow<\/p>\n<p>my fingers are long<\/p>\n<p>though my hands<\/p>\n<p>can not hold<\/p>\n<p>and my eyes are<\/p>\n<p>question marks<\/p>\n<p>that only the gods<\/p>\n<p>can answer<\/p>\n<p>and you were perfect<\/p>\n<p>but now<\/p>\n<p>I have to go, again.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>SOMETHING\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We met in the hallway<\/p>\n<p>made love under the stairs<\/p>\n<p>slept with the doors open<\/p>\n<p>and ate on the rooftop:<\/p>\n<p>and years felt like days<\/p>\n<p>and days like life.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Brenton Booth writes poetry and prose.
