{"id":1929,"date":"2012-10-23T20:37:02","date_gmt":"2012-10-23T20:37:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fullofcrow.com\/poetry\/?page_id=1929"},"modified":"2012-10-23T20:37:02","modified_gmt":"2012-10-23T20:37:02","slug":"hisham-nazer1012","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.fullofcrow.com\/poetry\/archives\/hisham-nazer1012\/","title":{"rendered":"Hisham Nazer, 10\/12"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>La Ville-Lumi\u00e8re<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>10th March, 2012<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All things, all the cubes and dashes,<br \/>\nThe lizard on the dark door, Dali&#8217;s geometry,<br \/>\nThe passion, the dejection, the salvation,<br \/>\nResurrection,<br \/>\nAll, all is gone by now<br \/>\nBeyond the sound of the steed<br \/>\nTrotting behind a maroon mare<br \/>\nWhen she chases her own shadow<br \/>\nDown the valley of bricks and rods<br \/>\n(Modern art, they call &#8217;em, huh)!<br \/>\nWhen they vanish in the haze,<br \/>\nBehind the vision&#8217;s single maze,<br \/>\nCome, come then Lutetia\u2019s mason\u2014<br \/>\nParisii\u2019s son,<br \/>\nThe Master of the rough hands that had<br \/>\nThe flesh of art and the blood of mathematics in their veins\u2014<br \/>\nThe hands that chiseled the raw-land<br \/>\nAnd brought Paris out from a fine heap of white stones.<br \/>\nCome now in the guise of a swan or a falcon if you can,<br \/>\nAnd make me chaste again by making love with me, violently<br \/>\n(For my woman is sleeping for centuries now<br \/>\nAnd is cold like Xanadu&#8217;s caverns)!<br \/>\nI&#8217;m Leda, from la ville-lumi\u00e8re.<br \/>\nSee beneath my rouge and lipstick,<br \/>\nAnd my latex lingerie.<br \/>\nWounded I am by the fountain pens<br \/>\nAnd dumb stares and vulgar praises.<br \/>\nGive me a child.<br \/>\nGive me a child of God again!<br \/>\nAnd when he dies<br \/>\nI want no prints in Alyscamps<br \/>\nBy his twin.<br \/>\nI want him to die a human, noble but uncelebrated!<br \/>\nOr is your marrow too is sucked by the time<br \/>\nIn the table with thirteen chairs<br \/>\nTurned into a Vinci\u2019s riddle?<br \/>\nImprison me again in the past and let me dream<br \/>\nBeyond the bars and die a goddess in the lap of a human,<br \/>\nA human with no heart yet loving all the more.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>La Ville-Lumi\u00e8re 10th March, 2012 All things, all the cubes and dashes, The lizard on the dark door, Dali&#8217;s geometry, The passion, the dejection, the salvation, Resurrection, All, all is gone by now Beyond the sound of the steed Trotting behind a maroon mare When she chases her own shadow Down the valley of bricks [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":934,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-1929","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v24.2 -
