Kiln<\/strong><\/p>\n

Between the kiln and the fire
\nlives a secret god.<\/p>\n

He knows me.<\/p>\n

He comes through my arms,
\nwarms my thighs.
\nHis electric burning images
\nrun currents to my hands
\nand into the clay.<\/p>\n

He guides the knife,
\ncutting off ears and wings.
\nHe gazes out lopsided eyes.
\nHe deforms the limbs.<\/p>\n

Faces emerge\u2014
\nbeautiful abominations
\nthat speak.
\nSome are my mother,
\nsome weep like babies,
\nsome whisper secrets that crawl
\nbeneath my flesh\u2014
\nspeak my name.<\/p>\n

Yes, there are horrors in every creator.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve seen them
\ncome from my fingers,
\ntearing fissures
\nwhere there were none.
\nAnd when they enter the kiln
\nthe fire burns them, freezes them
