{"id":2949,"date":"2017-02-21T03:22:30","date_gmt":"2017-02-21T03:22:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fullofcrow.com\/poetry\/?page_id=2949"},"modified":"2017-02-21T03:37:25","modified_gmt":"2017-02-21T03:37:25","slug":"g-macias-gusman-winter-2017","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.fullofcrow.com\/poetry\/archives\/g-macias-gusman-winter-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"G Macias Gusman, Winter 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>My Fair Share<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>My Fair Share<br \/>\nReaders are falling from the sky like dimes<br \/>\nturning on stops<br \/>\npennies from heaven<br \/>\npaid for the first round of Bohemians\u2019<br \/>\na lost generation in those lost bars in the dark<br \/>\nnickels ain\u2019t worth a dime<br \/>\nbut the Beats came cheap to<br \/>\nCarroll \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Bernstein \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Hank.<br \/>\nRemembering stories of Rockefeller handing out new dimes<br \/>\nby the fistful but everybody was hungry in the new deal<br \/>\nscared of their father\u2019s eyes with their mothers calm\u2026<\/p>\n<p>And I\u2019m riding on the 11:45 Bart<br \/>\nheading to Fog City to \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 hone<br \/>\nmy craft with a witchy little woman<br \/>\ncut from the same cloth that keeps me burning<br \/>\ndeep into the next line<br \/>\nwhen a black teen bellows from the hollowness<br \/>\nabout how a Mother Fucker can head the wrong way<\/p>\n<p>Son, is there any other way?<\/p>\n<p>Calm as a Hindu monkey<br \/>\nI sweat out the 14 minutes 48 years 15 seconds<br \/>\nready to head the right way<br \/>\nready to get pummeled and pelted with quarters<br \/>\nfrom moon crows with black eyes<br \/>\nand they all know that I\u2019m<br \/>\nready to make \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0change.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My Fair Share &nbsp;
