\n<\/span>to find pause
\njust long enough
\nin this whittled down
\nexistence
\nso that the fridge may be heard
\nbelting out some lost rock opera that
\nthe spiders can
\ntap in their webs and upon
\nmy brain<\/p>\n

this has been the way,
\nthe secret
\nnot so heavily guarded
\nlike the Queen\u2019s men and
\ntheir insatiable thirst for young
\nflesh or
\nthis country eroding
\nfrom center<\/p>\n

I wait for something to dust the dust
\nfrom the damp corners of my mind
\na sweet voice that
\nI\u2019d do best
\nto forget
\nfor be it the gentlemanly thing
\nto do
\nwhile passing time waiting upon
\nan old sickness
\nlike worms for rain
\nwhile the sun hides it\u2019s jealousy with
\na proper poker face and
\nthe wax people grow old but
\ndo not age while wishing for hearts
\nand brains and hernias
\na sweet salty flesh to caress or
\ncurtain the thought
\nof bone,
\na lasting credibility and yet,
\nstill some time to play
\nwhile planes go up & down
\n& buildings
\n& moods & lives
\nand those of us still here to write
\nabout it, complain about it
\nand generally suffer from it<\/p>\n

are left wishing
\ninevitably
\nfor the same<\/p>\n
