In 2009, she\u00a0launched an international reading series for African children to connect, learn, and participate in literary activities with students from around the world via video conferencing. She is married to a Maasai man from Kenya and they have one child. She has literary work published and\/or forthcoming in The Litchfield Review, Foundling Review, The Legendary, Breadcrumb Scabs, Counterexamplepoetics, and Boston Literary Magazine.
