Oxycontin<\/strong><\/p>\n

Agony grips each nerve ending
\nin tentacled, pulsating
\n <\/em>
\nentanglements; a sordid monster
\nrapped taffy pull of muscular
\n <\/em>
\nconstriction and expansion.
\nThe fetid uninhibited abscess
\n<\/em>
\nrapt in a \u201cDevil\u2019s Dance\u201d of impish
\ndelight serenaded by choiring
\n<\/em>
\ndemons recitals of Voodoo
\nincantations. Despondency
\n<\/em>
\nand repentance inherit the pink
\nimmaculate seed of torment
\n<\/em>
\nforgiven through the blessed
\nholy conversion into a bountiful
\n<\/em>
\nharvest of peaceful incoherence.<\/p>\n

Pyomyositis<\/strong><\/p>\n

The abscess lay hidden, dormant
\nbehind a curtain of sinew and muscle
\n<\/em>
\npatiently awaiting the chosen
\nhour now come: rupturing, revealing
\n<\/em>
\nitself as a poisonous phantom,
\nteeth honed for the occasion.
\n<\/em>
\nA river of red and yellow awful
\nissues from the core of my being
\n<\/em>
\ncascading through bowels and down
\nboth legs unchecked, turning ankles
\n<\/em>
\nand feet into purple deformities.
\nSoothing waves of Oxycontin hold
\n<\/em>
\nthe ravenous monster at bay,
\nonly to release him more cruel
\n<\/em>
\nand determined; my entire body gripped
\nby excruciating agony, the great
\n<\/em>
\ndestroyer having his way, defiling
\nan unguarded temple. At last, urgent
\n<\/em>
\nangels of war answer desperate,
\nincoherent pleas. Ravaged and spent,
\n<\/em>
\nI lapse into merciful sleep.<\/p>\n
