begging for blood<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

the night started
\nwith me
\nbleeding from my stomach
\nand shaving my belly button
\nso I could apply
\na bandage
\n<\/em>
\nthe night crops begged for water
\nas the dogs howl and\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 whimpered
\nunder the street light\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 running out
\nof cool days in the breeze
\nto suffer only from
\nheadaches
\n<\/em>
\nand boredom
\n<\/em>
\nI kept pressure on to
\nkeep the blood\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 from flowing
\n<\/em>
\n……<\/span>a woman in my bed, sitting
\nslouched
\nwith a round brown belly
\nitching her breasts
\nat chapped brown nipples
\n……<\/span>and smiling over my blackheads
\nwith
\nthe blunt end of
\na pair of tweezers
\n<\/em>
\nthe dogs still begging for blood
\nto bloom into something
\nhuman
\n<\/em>
\nin daylight
\n<\/em>
\nthe night ended with a brief argument
\nand sweat
\npooling at the
\nback of my neck.<\/p>\n
